Jake Lohmann was rewarded for his efforts throughout the 2022 season with the Sandringham Zebras, collecting two awards in their best and fairest count on Monday night.
Lohmann — the older brother of Brisbane Lions player Kai — took home the coaches award, while he also shared the Ed Hattam Memorial Trophy for most determined player alongside Darby Hipwell.
He made the most of his second stint in the VFL this year, having previously played two games at North Melbourne in 2019.
Playing 11 games with the Zebras, his best game arguably came in their round seven clash with the Northern Bullants, where he recorded 11 disposals, five marks and kicked two goals in their 30-point victory.
Lohmann returned to Maryborough this year after stints at the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the NAB League, while also playing at Lake Wendouree.
Due to his underlying VFL commitments, Lohmann was only able to play one game for the Magpies this year — their round eight defeat to South Bendigo — but showed he was a class above, recording 45 disposals, eight marks, seven tackles and six clearances.
