The Goldfields Sustainability Group is hosting its first event for 2023 this weekend — with the session dedicated to a discussion on electric vehicles (EVs).
Scheduled to run tomorrow at the Bull and Mouth Hotel conference room at 119 High Street, Maryborough, from 2 to 4 pm, the event will feature a talk by resident Tony Macer.
Mr Macer will expand on his personal experience as an owner of an EV and will relay relevant information about costs and charging stations.
“I will talk about why [my wife and I] chose an EV and not a hybrid, our experiences with it so far, a recount of our recent road trip to Sydney and back, the range, the price of the vehicle and running costs, performance, how we go about charging the battery, what you do if you run out of battery, the level of inconvenience compared with a petrol car and dealing with ill-informed negative comments from sceptics,” he said.
The group is calling on other EV owners to attend the event and share their experiences as well.
Those interested can register their interest by contacting Barry Parsons on 0423 822 506 or by emailing goldfieldssg@gmail.com — spots are limited.
