Local man wins division one
A Maryborough man’s mundane Monday took a wild twist when he casually checked his TattsLotto ticket and realised he’d just become $890,000 richer.

The local resident held one of the six division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4517, drawn on Saturday, and took home a total prize of nearly $895,000.
While the winner took two days to discover his good fortune, he’s already looking towards an early retirement thanks to the winnings.
“I’m so excited. I’m used to winning $22 on my ticket; this is next level,” he told an official from The Lott when they confirmed his newfound fortune.
“My partner and I have been out and about on the weekend, and I hadn’t had a chance to check my ticket.”
With an unexpected $890,000 windfall about to land in his pocket, the blue-collar worker is ready to bid farewell to mortgage payments and fast-track his retirement dreams.
“The first thing I’ll do with the prize is pay off the mortgage and clear any bills,” he said.
“I’ll invest the rest, and then look forward to an early retirement.”
The winning entry was purchased at Maryborough News & Lotto in High Street, Maryborough, and the winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4517 were 18, six, 42, 10, one and three, while the supplementary numbers were five and 40.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4517 — two each in New South Wales and Western Australia, and one each in Victoria and Queensland.
Saturday’s division one win marks the latest in what seems to be a lucky streak for Maryborough News & Lotto, with a number of division one winning tickets sold there over the years, including as recently as 2022.
