The Maryborough Little Athletics Centre held their end-of-season Championship Day on Sunday, March 24, with Member for Ripon Martha Haylett MP making an appearance.
It was a day to celebrate for all at Jack Pascoe Reserve, with five new life member inductees, Vanessa Miller, Shane Miller, Bec Clark, Stuart Elliott and Marita Elliott all recognised for their hard work around the club.
The overall star award winners for 2023/24 were Janae Wright and Oakley Meyer, with seven year long service awards handed to Charlie Sullivan and Piper Marshall.
The mini-multi sash award winners saw Mia Schodde win first place in the girls division with 2811 points, with Naomi Henderson second on 2780 points.
Across the boys’ division, Oliver Merlo was the winner, scoring 2631 points, with Harry Mason second on 2600.
The age group awards were also handed out, with the winners as follows:
Under six — Lucy Schodde and Hunter Ansell
Under seven — Hannah Jeffery and Oakley Meyer
Under eight — Janae Wright and Max Brasser
Under nine — Quinlyn Nicholson, Thomas Merlo and Nate Burnett
Under 10 — Chloe Mason, Xavier Brasser and Bentley Meyer
Under 11 — Alyssa Burnett and Flynn Alexander
Under 12 — Maya Ross and Harry Mason
Under 13 — Mia Schodde and Mason Hopf
Under 15 — Piper Marshall
Under 16 — Naomi Henderson
Under 17 — Kody Wright
Haylett was on hand to present the awards for athletes and life member inductees.
