HARCOURT 12.17 (89) def MALDON 5.6 (36)

Harcourt asserted their authority over Maldon with a strong second half to take victory by 53 points.

The Lions led at home in the first quarter by 16 points and seemed to be in control early in the game, but it was a more even second term as the Lions led at half time by just four goals.

A six goal to two second half was where Harcourt proved too strong for the Bombers with Kal Huntly again being the key play maker for the home team with his third best on ground in a row.

Cameron Anderson also proved that he is a player to watch as he also was amongst the best players for his fourth game in succession. Others to play well for Harcourt were Darby Semmens, Jed Rodda, Brayden Frost, and Tom Walters, while Huntly and Anderson both kicked three goals apiece to keep the Lions undefeated streak going.

A goalless day for Maldon’s key forward Rhys Ford wasn’t helpful as he was well held by the Lions defence. Patrick Long was named the best player for Maldon, while Seb Greene continued his consistent form with another stand out performance. Others to play well for the visitors were Jordon Collins, Brodie Leonard-Shannon, Tanner Bishop and Douglas Gray, with Billy Johns and Cody Gray the only multiple goal scorers with two goals apiece.
