LEXTON (40) def HARCOURT (23)
It was a rematch of their semi-final clash from last year, and Lexton were able to back up that result by taking a strong 17-goal victory over Harcourt.
The win came courtesy of a strong middle two quarters for the Tigers, as they looked to show that they still mean business as they search for an elusive A grade flag.
The Tigers started strongly by scoring 12 goals to seven in the opening quarter, and were able to extend their lead by half time thanks to another 12 goals in the second term, while restricting the Lions to just five goals.
The third quarter was a bit of a scrap, with just 11 goals scored, however, Lexton were able to score eight, while restricting Harcourt to just three goals, to take a 32-15 lead into the final change.
Lexton eased to victory from there, with both teams scoring eight goals in the final quarter, as the Tigers took a 40-23 victory.
The strong goal-scoring duo of Rachel Phelan and Leesa Donhardt worked together well again, as has been a common theme, with Phelan scoring 24 goals and Donhardt adding 16, while Tayla Gale scored 15 goals for the Lions.
