Lexton were able to keep themselves in the race for a top four spot after defeating Campbells Creek by 41 goals at Campbells Creek Recreation Reserve.

The Tigers were dominant from the outset as they were able to feed Rachel Phelan and Leesa Donhardt effectively to finish with a season-high 74 goals.

The first quarter saw the Tigers score 16 goals to eight to break away from the outset, with Phelan scoring nine goals and Donhardt seven, while for Campbells Creek, Lillie Wrigley scored five goals and Molly Kennedy three.

The Tigers were dominant in the second quarter, which saw them add 23 goals to five to lead 39-13 at the main break. Phelan scored 18 goals, while Donhardt added five, and for Campbells Creek, Wrigley scored three goals and Kennedy two.

To Campbells Creek’s credit, the third quarter was a very competitive one, and they scored 13 goals to 17 to trail 26-56 at the last change. For the Tigers, Phelan added 11 goals and Donhardt six, while Wrigley scored 12 goals and Tarni Williams one.

The Tigers regained control in the last term as they finished how they started, scoring 18 goals to seven to eventually push the margin past 40 goals. Phelan scored 11 goals to finish with 49 for the day, while Donhardt scored seven. For Campbells Creek, Wrigley scored six goals to finish with 26, and Molly Kennedy scored one.
