The Lexton and Avoca rivalry gained another good battle to its repertoire on the weekend when the Tigers took an 11-point victory.

It was a tight and gritty game, with neither team able to break the game open throughout, in what was a good warm-up for finals football for Lexton.

The Tigers made the jump with the only two goals of the first term to lead by 13 points at the first break.

With both teams looking to gain ascendancy, the second term was a struggle, but Lexton held firm to lead by 14 at the main break.

Avoca made their move in the third term, and edged closer to Lexton by kicking four goals in their most productive quarter of the day, while holding the Tigers to two goals.

With the margin just five points, there was plenty to play for, but it was the Tigers that did enough as they kicked two goals to one to eventually take the win.

Thomas Cullinan was the only multiple goalkicker for the Tigers, who were well-served by Jaykeb Lench, Lachlan Pryor, Shaun Field, Lachlan Rokebrand, Josh Sargent and Luke Karslake.

For Avoca, ByronWynd kicked two of their six goals, with Jordan Hayes, Cameron Antonio, Cody Lubeek, Wynd, Brett Monk and Scott Cawthan named in their best.
