Lexton won the battle of the Tigers played at Hedges Oval on Saturday and a close contest from start to finish was the result of the day with Lexton winning by just twelve points.
Scores were level at quarter time in the low scoring match, but the visitors appeared to have more of the ball for the remainder of the game with 18 scoring shots to 11.
Lexton’s inaccuracy around the goal mouth appeared to keep the home team in the game, as did the slippery conditions on what was a very heavy Hedges Oval surface.
There were only two goals separating the teams at three quarter time, but an even final quarter with both teams scoring two goals and one behind saw Lexton get the points.
Lexton’s best player was Shaun Field, with Lachlan Pryor, Joshua Sargent, Dylan Bourke, Luke Arvidson and Jaykeb Lench, with Sargent being the only multiple goal scorer with two of Lexton’s six goals.
Royal Park named their best as Lachlan Bates, Jacob Rollason, Archer Patterson, Michael Epworth, Justin Perry, and Samuel Ploeger, with Bates and Rollason kicking two goals apiece.
