Avoca have maintained top spot on the ladder with a strong 14-goal victory over Lexton.
The Bulldogs were able to extend their lead throughout the day, keeping the Tigers at bay.
A high-scoring first quarter saw the Bulldogs score 19 goals to 14 to take a five-goal lead at quarter time. Maddy Egan scored 15 goals, while Faith McKenzie added four, while for Lexton, Rachel Phelan scored 10 goals, and Leesa Donhardt four.
The Bulldogs continued to extend their lead in the second quarter, scoring 18 goals to 11 to lead 37-25 at the main break. Egan scored 13 goals, while McKenzie added five, and for Lexton, Phelan scored six goals, and Donhardt five.
Lexton fought back in the third quarter to close the margin by two goals, scoring 16 goals to 14 to trail 41-51 at the last change. Phelan scored 10 goals for the Tigers, while Donhardt added six, and for the Bulldogs, Egan scored 10 goals, and McKenzie four.
The Bulldogs finished the stronger, however, and scored 16 goals to 12 to finish with a 14-goal win. Egan finished with 11 goals to finish with 49 for the day, while McKenzie added five more, while for Lexton, Phelan scored nine goals to finish with 35, and Donhardt scored three.
The Bulldogs will look to continue their good form when they play Talbot next week, while Lexton will look to bounce back when they travel to Maldon.
