Lexton secure their 26th consecutive win over Avoca
Lexton won their 26th straight game against the Avoca Bulldogs, winning by 34 points.

In what was an evenly contested encounter, the Tigers were able to convert their opportunities while Avoca’s forward line appeared dysfunctional as the Tiger defenders were well on top of their game.
The Tigers kicked three goals in the second quarter while holding the Bulldogs to just one goal, and the 17-point halftime lead was all they needed to quell any challenge from the Bulldogs.
Avoca tried hard in a hotly contested final term, but the damage had been done and they were never going to topple the Tigers.
It was disappointing that the Bulldogs forwards couldn’t finish off the work of their midfielders and they will most likely be working on this at training this week.
But the Tigers’ defence can hold their heads high as they set many forward moves in play from across the back line.
Nine players contributed to the goal kicking from Lexton with Caulfield Bears recruit Patrick Gleeson kicking three goals, while their best players were Luke Guielen, Lucas Blazco, Tom McGregor, Will Brand, Kobi Cheeseman, and Jeff Debast.
Avoca’s best was co-coach, Alex Bowd, Scott Cawthan, Nathan Coghlan, Bryce Howell, Brayden Northern, and Darcy Carey, with Mitch Whelan the only multiple goal scorer with two goals.
