Lexton relished the opportunity to have a big win on Saturday, defeating Campbells Creek.

Campbells Creek had one of their most competitive quarters of the year in the opening stanza, with both the Magpies and Lexton kicking four goals apiece.

However, the Tigers got their tails into gear after this with a nine-goal to one second term to lead by 55 points at the main change.

Lexton kept Creek completely scoreless on return to the field for the third, all the while blowing its lead out to 102 points with a quarter left in it.

To the Magpies’ credit they got back on the board in the fourth multiple times, kicking two goals from seven shots — which could have shaved the margin down had they been a little more accurate in front of goal.

Lexton finished off with six goals in the fourth quarter, with the 125-point win filling the Tigers’ camp with elation as they moved back into the top eight.

Bryce Karslake, Dan Wrigley, Tom Cullinan, Patrick McGuigan, Justin Hobson and Mitch Croiser were best on for Lexton with Hobson kicking a bag of six goals, McGuigan kicking five and Darren Cook and Josh Sargent chipping in with three apiece.

Matt Manning, Nick O’Brien, Lachlan Hyland, Dylan Stevens, Mak Ganim and Craig Davies got votes for Creek, with Sam Banko and Stevens the only multiple goal scorers with two each.

Lexton is back in the top eight as a result and will hope to maintain this through games with Dunolly this weekend and Rovers the next while Creek finishes off its return season against Avoca and Natte Bealiba.
