The installation, delivered in partnership between Central High-lands Water (CHW) and Pyrenees Shire Council, will provide members of the Lexton Football Netball Club and local recreational users with easy access to fresh drinking water.

This valuable new amenity en-courages locals to ‘bring your own bottle’ (BYOB) and opt for tap water over bottled water, delivering clear benefits for personal health, cost savings, and environmental impact.

With the human body made up of around 70 percent water, staying appropriately hydrated supports overall wellbeing, including improved concentration and performance, especially important for participants at the Lexton Football Netball Club.

CHW, through its Choose Tap program, continues to play a key role in supporting regional com-munities. This new fountain is not only a practical addition but also a way to promote education around the health, hydration, and sus-tainability benefits of choosing tap water.

“This new Choose Tap water fountain will help keep the local community including the Lexton Football Netball Club hydrated all year long, while promoting environ-mentally responsible choices,” CHW managing director Jeff Haydon said.

Pyrenees Shire Council CEO Jim Nolan said the new water fountain is an asset to the Lexton community.

“Pyrenees Shire Council is pleased to partner with Central Highlands Water to enhance the Lexton Recreation Reserve’s fresh drinking water supplies,” he said.

“I encourage all our reserve users to bring along a bottle of their choice, choose natural tap water to stay hydrated while playing sport, and support sustainable environmental choices at the same time.”
