The Carisbrook Lady Redbacks will look to bounce back after suffering a heavy defeat to East Point last week when they take on Darley on Sunday.
It was a tough day last Sunday for the club, as six goals in the first and last quarter saw the Lady Redbacks beaten by 121 points.
Nevertheless, Carisbrook will look to bounce back and return to the form that they were able to show at stages against Bacchus Marsh as they continue to navigate their return to the Ballarat Football League Women’s competition.
Amali Allbutt has continued her fine start to the season, and was named in the best again, while Zeanna Cassells, Grace Love, Olivia Butler, Danae Every and Jade Cameron were also named in the best.
Darley, who sit second on the ladder, having won their first two games by a combined margin of 177 points, will be a tricky assignment.
Carisbrook’s under 16 team made their season debut last week after having the bye in round one, and while they eventually went down 8.9 (57) to 0.2 (2) against Ballarat Swans, there were some encouraging signs.
It was the second quarter, which saw Ballarat score three goals, where the game got away from Carisbrook a little bit, but they were able to bounce back in the third quarter, conceding just one goal.
Ella Gourley was named as the Lady Redbacks’ best, while Rhiannon Carter, Tiani Jardine, Rhani Evans, Georgina Bates and Maddison Smith also performed well.
Carisbrook will now look to perform well against unbeaten Redan at City Oval on Sunday morning as they look for their first win of the under 16 season.
