Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) has removed the blue-green algae warning for Laanecoorie Reservoir following a significant decline in algae levels.

GMW issued the warning for Laanecoorie Reservoir in January 2023. The warning was in place for 135 days, making it the longest active warning Laanecoorie Reservoir has had since detailed records began in 2003.

GMW will continue to undertake water quality monitoring and if blue-green algae reach levels deemed unsafe by national health guidelines, a warning will be issued.
