Laane celebrates 50 years
Over 240 people celebrated the history of the Laanecoorie Dunolly Cricket Club at their half-century celebrations last Saturday.

Past and present players, committee members and supporters came together at the Maryborough Highland Society to regale fun memories and catch up with old faces.
Many travelled interstate for the occasion, which was headlined by Australian cricket legend Merv Hughes who excited the crowd with hilarious anecdotes from his playing career.
The event also hosted silent auctions and sales of the Raise the Bat book, with all proceeds going to the club.
The club also officially announced its team of the half-century on Saturday, including some of the most iconic names to wear a Laane jersey.

- 1) Colin McKenzie: 29 A grade seasons, A grade premiership player in 1995–96.
- 2) Liam Mottram: Three time A grade premiership player, three time club champion.
- 3) Peter Daly: MDCA champion player 1995–96, five time club champion, two time A grade premiership player.
- 4) Patrick Edmunds: Two time A grade premiership player, 1997–98 premiership captain.
- 5) Neil Davies: MDCA champion player 1991–92, two time A grade premiership player, club champion 1991–92.
- 6) Matthew Smith (Captain): Six time A grade premiership player, three time club champion.
- 7) Maurice Watts: Four time MDCA champion, five time club champion.
- 8) Glen Templeton: 30 A grade seasons, 11 time club champion, three time A grade premiership player.
- 9) Ben Gunn: MDCA champion 2021–22, two time club champion, four time A grade premiership player.
- 10) Greg Reeves: MDCA champion 1986–87 and 1988–89, five time club champion.
- 11) Steven Dellavedova: MDCA champion 2012–13, five time club champion, three time A grade premiership player.
- 12th man Zac Graham: Club champion 2019–20, Five time A grade premiership player.
- Kaye Polinelli (Scorer): Club scorer almost since its inception, the scorer in a total of 16 club premierships.
