It now appears a formality that the Kangaroos will make the finals, and Saturday’s performance suggests that they’ll be able to run games out well, despite a good challenge from Campbells Creek.

In the end, 11 goals to nine saw the visitors lead 35-28 at the final change. Gale scored seven goals and Jury four for Newstead, while for Creek, Wrigley scored five times, and Kennedy four.
Although the game was on the line in the final term, the Kangaroos finished stronger, scoring 13 goals to eight to eventually record their 12-goal win.
