Maryborough District Triathlon Club are hailing the efforts of member Jeffrey Beer after finishing in the top three for his age group for the 2023/24 Victorian State Series.
Beer’s consistency across four events saw him gain 20 points across the season, finishing in third for the 45-49 age group behind overall winner Stephane Vander Bruggen and Nigel Fanning.
Points were awarded based off finishing positions in the class, with the class winner receiving 10 points, second place nine points, and so on.
Beer finished in ninth place at the season opening event at the Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby in August, before a strong run in the You Yangs in September saw him net fourth place, and seven crucial points.
Beer returned to action in December for the Shepparton Aquathlon, finishing in seven position, before gaining seven more points thanks to his fourth place in Echuca/Moama in January.
There was also great news for fellow Maryborough District Triathlon Club member Cooper Mark, who finished second overall in the North Central Region Secondary School Sports Triathlon event.
