NEWSTEAD 15.25 (115) def CAMPBELLS CREEK 1.0 (6)

Newstead won a one-sided game at Newstead on Saturday when they defeated Campbells Creek by 109 points.

In a scrappy game that was heated at numerous times throughout,Newstead had 40 scoring shots and but for inaccuracy the margin could have been significantly more than it was.

In an unusual occurrence, the Steaders hit the goal post five times in the opening term which certainly didn’t help the Steaders scoring percentage.

Creek did score the first goal of the game, but it took Newstead 11 shots before they kicked their first goal after kicking 10points in succession.

The Kangaroos gradually took control of the contest, sitting 35 points up at half time, although having kicked four goals from 21 scoring shots, before getting their kicking boots on late in the game as they piled on seven goals in the last term.

No best players or goalkickers were provided by either team at the print deadline.
