After many years of planning, the early works stage of the $115 million Maryborough Hospital Redevelopment is nearing completion.
As a result, community members will see some increased activity on the corner of Neill and Clarendon streets in the coming days and weeks.
This will bring some changes to access and parking in the area. Key changes include:
• A new driveway to the Urgent Care Centre will open to provide ambulance access and a patient drop-off point (entry remains via Clarendon Street, next to the former entrance).
• The car park next door to the Clarendon Medical Centre will close to make way for the builder’s site office, amenities and materials deliveries.
• Changes to on-street car parking along Neill Street and Clarendon Street (between the new Urgent Care Centre driveway and the Clarendon Medical Clinic) to make way for construction works.
• Hospital and supply deliveries to enter and exit via a driveway on Neill Street (just west of the Nightingale Clinic).
The $115 million hospital redevelopment will bring world-class health facilities to Maryborough and is essential to meet the growing needs of the community.
The project team including the Victorian Health Building Authority and Maryborough District Health Service is working closely with the builders and Central Goldfields Shire Council to minimise any impacts in the short-term.
