Whether it is crafting sculptures, dancing the night away or heading on a road trip, young people across the shire will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their school break thanks to the Central Goldfields Shire Council’s winter school holiday program.
A total of 10 events across 13 days hopes to provide unique entertainment accessible to all young residents, with all but one of the events free to attend.
The program starts today with three events across Maryborough, followed by:
Beginners acting class on Thursday, July 4 at the Maryborough Community Hub from 10.30 am.
Archery event at Golden Triangle Archers in Dunolly on Tuesday, July 9 with transport available from the Central Goldfields Shire car park at 9.30 am.
Musical Puppet Show with Nicholas Ridiculous on Thursday, July 11 from the Maryborough Library at 10.30 am and the Dunolly Senior Citizens Hall from 1.30 pm.
The program will wrap up at the Maryborough Paramount Theatre on Sunday, July 14 with a screening of Despicable Me 4 from 11 am for a 11.30 am start.
According to Central Goldfields Shire councillor Gerard Murphy, the range of activities provide local kids the chance for new experiences.
“Give archery, dancing or acting a go and get active these holidays. You could uncover a hidden talent or just have a heap of fun by joining in, meeting new people or hanging with friends,” he said.
“Plus all the favourites are there for younger kids with the popular free movie time, puppet shows in Dunolly and Maryborough, or being creative at the art gallery.”
Many of the activities require booking to attend, for more information, a full list of activities and to book, go to www.central goldfields.vic.gov.au/winterfun2024
