Four members of the Maryborough Hockey Team recently had an opportunity of a lifetime when they travelled to Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games.
Dani Wilde, Melissa Van Der Drift, Alison Voss and Louella McPhan all linked up with members from Footscray, Sydney and Western Australia for a women over 50s team, performing well overall and just missing out on medalling up.
The Maryborough Hockey team will also be competing at the Country Victorian Championships this weekend at the Hawthorn hockey fields, with the team competing in the B grade women’s competition at the Central Victorian Hockey Association, as well as fielding a junior mixed team.
The team is inclusive from beginners to more experienced players ranging from the ages of 12 to over 70 years.
