Changeable conditions highlighted round six of the midweek pennant on Tuesday morning.

Perhaps the most surprising result was league-leading Highland Tartan sweeping Talbot 96-41.

Highland Tartan were able to take control from the outset, winning rink one 33-18, before taking rink two 39-11 and rink three 24-12.

Dunolly Blue were able to keep pace with an important victory over Highland Gold, taking a 59-50 win.

A 28-7 win on rink one allowed Dunolly Blue to take control of the tie, and despite a 23-10 loss on rink two, they were able to preserve their lead and take 14 competition points thanks to a 21-20 win on rink three.

Avoca moved to within percentage of Highland Gold thanks to a 65-52 victory over Maryborough Golf.

A 22-13 victory on rink one was the perfect start for Avoca, but Maryborough Golf bounced back on rink two, winning 20-17. A 26-19 victory to Avoca on rink three allowed them to take 14 competition points.

Carisbrook joined Highland Gold and Avoca on 42 competition points thanks to a tense 53-46 victory over Dunolly Gold.

It looked comfortable for Carisbrook on rinks one and two, winning 26-13 and 21-8 respectively. But a 25-6 victory to Dunolly Gold on rink three made it a tight finish. Carisbrook held firm to take 14 competition points.

There will now be a two-week break for competitors before competition reconvenes on November 29.
