In the midweek pennant, Highland Tartan flexed their muscle again to remain unbeaten, completing the sweep against Carisbrook.

Highland Tartan were able to win all three rinks by increasing margins, taking 23-13, 29-15 and 37-12 victories.

Dunolly Blue were able to keep in touch in second position on the ladder with a 78-43 win over Dunolly Gold.

Much like Highland Tartan, Dunolly Blue swept their Gold counterparts, winning 27-15, 28-14 and 23-14 on all three rinks respectively.

Talbot took an important step towards preserving their top four status with a thrilling win over Avoca.

Talbot were able to win rink one 27-12, but Avoca were successful in hitting back on rink two, winning 26-8. In the end, however, Talbot’s success on rink three, winning 22-14, ensured they would take home 14 competition points, staying within six points of Dunolly Blue in third.

Highland Gold moved 12 points clear of the chasing pack in fourth courtesy of a nine-shot victory over Maryborough Golf, winning 66-57.

Rink one saw Highland Gold establish a 10-shot margin thanks to a 22-12 win, but Golf won a high-scoring thriller in rink two with a 30-28 victory. Highland Gold ensured they would take 14 competition points with a 16-15 win on rink three.

Next Tuesday, the top four teams will meet one another, with Highland Tartan travelling to Talbot, while Highland Gold will host Dunolly Blue.
