Hawks take Bombers by 50 goals on Friday
It was lights, camera, action at Bill Woodfull Reserve for a Good Friday clash between Maldon and Talbot, where the visiting Hawks hit the court running and didn’t slow down to take a strong 50-goal win.

It was Talbot who set the tone in the first quarter of play, goaling 22 times while holding Maldon, despite their home court advantage, to just three goals.
A slow starting Maldon performed better in the lead up to half time, adding an additional nine goals to bring its total score to 12 at the main break, but the Hawks had all but grasped the match with their talons and flown off, sitting at 40 goals — a 28-goal lead.
This margin didn’t improve when both sides returned from the main break, as Talbot added another 17 goals to its score while Maldon found an additional eight goals of their own.
The final quarter saw a surge from Maldon, who slotted 11 goals in their highest scoring effort, but this was shadowed by the Hawks who scored 24 goals of their own, blowing their total out to a whopping 81 goals for the match.
Talbot’s Eleisha Phelps was a standout in Friday’s match, shooting at 83 percent accuracy to score 51 goals from 61 shots.
Jess White also performed strongly with 25 goals of her own from 38 attempts.
In what was a tough match for Maldon, Katelyn Cutlack was among those to perform well, shooting at
50 percent accuracy to score 14 goals.
