The Bendigo Football Net-ball League senior best and fairests were counted on Sunday night, while Maryborough was well represented in lower grades.
The best result came in the under 18 football competition, where Jai Howell finished in third with 19 votes, while Tom Myers made it a Magpie double in the top five, finishing equal fourth with 17 votes.
Howell’s superb finish to the season, with two three-vote games in the final two rounds, was a massive help, with the speedy midfielder polling 16 votes from round eight onwards.
Maryborough players polled well in netball grades, with Keely Hare finishing ninth in the Betty Thompson Medal for A grade netball.
Hare polled 14 votes in what was an impressive season for the goal shooter, while Chrissy Hooper also polled well, finishing in 17th with 10 votes.
Much like Howell, Hare polled strongly from round eight onwards, polling 11 votes in the final 10 games.
There was also a top 10 finish in B grade netball, with Alex Williams finishing in equal eighth with 13 votes.
Meantime, the top vote getters in B reserve was Celeste Lean and Grace Brady, who polled six votes each, while Cam Skinner was the leading reserves vote getter with three votes.
Coby Perry was Maryborough’s top vote getter in the Michelsen Medal count, scoring six votes, while Brady Neill and Liam Latch polled three votes each.
