As a result of Carisbrook’s victory, there are now five teams all level on points, with only percentage separating Harcourt, Carisbrook, Natte Bealiba, Trentham and Talbot.

Harcourt had the upper hand at quarter time, leading by seven points after kicking three goals through Braydon Vaz, Jed Rodda and Tyler Barnett.

The Redbacks were extremely impressive in defence and kept the Lions goalless for the remainder of the game while kicking the next 10 goals.

Tim Rinaldi has hit a purple patch for the Redbacks in recent weeks, kicking another five goals to add to his impressive 27-goal tally, with 17 goals in the past three games.

Adam Hurse led the way in defence, and Todd Bryant gave the Redbacks first use after winning the midfield battle.

It was a surprise loss for the Lions, who have taken all before them, averaging 20 goals per game , and were stopped in their tracks when they only kicked three goals for the game.

Carisbrook named their best players as Rinaldi, Hurse, Bryant, Jackson Bowen, Bray Bartlett and Andrew Toan.

Harcourt named Mark Noonan, Geoffrey Jolly, Orin McKay, Josh Hogg, Alex Jensen and Tom Walters their best players.
