Every team is on the board in season 2024 in the A grade netball competition, with Harcourt taking a six-goal victory over Navarre.
The young Lions were able to come from behind at half time to overhaul the Hoppers with a strong second half in earning their win, which takes them off the foot of the table.
Both teams found scoring hard to come by in the early stages, with the Lions scoring on eight occasions, and Navarre scoring six times. Tegan McKay scored six times for Harcourt, while Gemma Papadimos scored twice. For Navarre, Annabelle Price scored five times, and Sadie Reading once.
The second quarter saw Navarre make their move, scoring 13 goals to nine to lead 19-17 at the main break. Mollie Simpson moved into goal shooter and immediately took charge, scoring 10 goals, while Reading added three, while for Harcourt, Papadimos scored on five occasions and McKay four times.
The Lions were very impressive in the third quarter, however, and scored 14 goals to seven to make their move, leading 31-26 at the final change. Papadimos scored nine times, and McKay five, while for Navarre, Simpson scored five times and Price twice.
Navarre needed a response to get back into the game, but Harcourt had every answer, and scored nine goals to eight to finish off the job. Papadimos scored six goals to finish with 22 for the day, with McKay adding three, while for Navarre, Simpson scored seven to finish with 22, with Reading scoring one goal.
Harcourt will now have three weeks off, returning in round 10, while Navarre will look to bounce back when they host Carisbrook.
