Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud has launched its $250,000 community grant program to mark its upcoming 25th anniversary.
Next year is the community bank’s 25th year, with the board looking to give back the community that has supported it over the years.
Applications to the grant program are required to align with five key criteria centred around leadership, opportunity and innovation, wellbeing, collaboration and connection and liveability.
Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud branch manager Joel Condon said the grant program was a way to acknowledge the impact local groups have in the community.
“Our 25th anniversary is a momentous occasion for Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud, and we want to celebrate it by expressing our heartfelt gratitude to our customers who have been with us every step of the way,” he said.
“We owe our success to the support of our loyal customers, and this grant program is our way of giving back to the communities that have played a crucial role in our journey.”
The Maryborough Volunteer Resource Centre is one local group that has benefitted from the grant program in the past and president Tony Macer said the community bank’s support has made a big difference.
“The Bendigo Bank have been fantastic for all community groups,” he said.
“They had representatives attend grant writing workshops that were held recently and from that point of view it’s given insight into the grants available and how groups can apply for them.
“We’ve received funding from this community grant program in the past which has been a massive help in establishing us.”
Applications for the program open next Monday, July 3 and close on Friday, September 15. Interested community groups can find more information, including eligibility criteria and the application process on the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud Facebook page or community bankavocamaryborough.smartygrants.com.au
The community bank has invested more than $1.9 million back into the local community, from the profits of people, businesses, and organisations banking with them.
