Central Goldfields and surrounds residents can now apply for a new round of the $250 Power Saving Bonus to help cut down on energy costs.

The bonus is a one-off payment of $250 to support Victorians with the rising cost of living and is available to all Victorian households (home-owners and renters) who visit the Victorian Energy Compare website.

Those who received payments under the previous round will be eligible for the new round which opened last Friday.

“Families right across Victoria are facing high costs of living, and this new round of the $250 Power Saving Bonus helps them to pay the bills and make sure they are getting the best deal on their energy,” Acting Minister for Energy and Resources Ingrid Stitt said.

Only one payment is applicable per household.

To apply, you’ll need a recent residential electricity bill and be the account holder for that bill.

Then, follow the steps on the Victorian Energy Compare website compare.energy.vic.gov.au.

To speak to an Energy Assistance Program advocate, call 1800 161 215.

Local neighbourhood and com-munity houses can also help anyone who needs support applying for the bonus.

For support, call Maryborough Community House (5461-4551), Mill House Neighbourhood House (5461-3185) or the Dunolly Neighbourhood Centre (5468-1511).
