Autumn in the Pyrenees
1 min read

Autumn is a wonderful time to take long walks, head to a foodie event or try something new. As the weather cools the landscape of the Pyrenees vineyards is transformed to shades of yellow, orange and reds.

With walks to suit all ages and abilities, autumn is the ideal time for visitors to soak in the breathtaking natural beauty of the changing seasons.

From challenging mountain trails to rainforest strolls, walkers can explore the Pyrenees at their own pace.

For practiced hikers, Mount Cole and Mount Buangor offer a number of walking trails to conquer, either with a two-day overnight camping experience or multiple trips to complete the trail.

For those eager to enjoy the Pyrenees at a more leisurely pace, visitors can explore the beauty of the area with a number of easy family walks. Cascade Falls is a short five-minute walk from the Waterfalls Nature Walk. Visitors can relax and enjoy the flowing water as it rushes across a large granite rock face, contributing to the enchanted rainforest vibe of the area.

And what better way to end a day of adventure than a lovely meal and a glass or two of local wine? As well as a comprehensive list of walking trails, day trips and overnight adventures, the Pyrenees Information Centre offers advice on where to eat, shop and stay.
