It was expected to be a close game, but the Giants controlled play from the opening bounce and held the Tigers goalless in the first half.

The Giants dominated possession with 13 inside 50’s to six in the first term and 14 inside 50’s to four in the second term.

Had the Giants forwards kicked truly, the game could have been a blowout, with 10 shots on goal resulting in three goals and seven behinds to just three behinds at half time.

The Tigers started to mount a challenge in the third term, but inaccuracy was costly. At three-quarter time the Giants led by three goals and appeared to be coasting.

However, the Tigers kicked the first two goals of the final quarter and suddenly it was a one-goal game.

The Giants’ forwards responded and it was a five-goal term to four goals as the Giants gave the crowd the victory they had been looking for the entire season.

The Giants’ Peter Wytkamp was named the best player for the second week in succession and played a big role in the victory.

Others who played well were Nathan Murphy, Cody Wright, Zayne Earl, Scott Miller, and Atticus Cullinan, with Karson Guareschi kicking three goals in the home team victory.

Lexton named Pearce Antonio as their best player, along with Will Brand, Jaykeb Lench, Lucas Blazko, Luke Guelen, and Aiden Broughton, with the only multiple-goal scorer being Jackson Kurzman with two goals.
