The Talbot Arts and Historical Museum will be able to preserve and showcase collections and data thanks to new funding.
The museum has received $2070 as part of the State Government’s Local History Grants to catalogue and provide access to their collections and historical data.
The new funding comes on top of a recent grant announcement of $27,102 to help upgrade the museum, including the installation of a solar system and air conditioning.
Talbot Arts and Historical Museum Inc secretary Marion Miller said it was an exciting time for the museum.
“The funding means we’ll have a variety of resources to help us manage our collections and make them more accessible,” she said.
“It’s very exciting after the last funding announcement, I spent a fair bit of last summer writing grant proposals and it’s wonderful to start seeing some of the benefits.”
Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said the funding is a great support for the museum and its volunteers.
“Passionate volunteers play a vital role in preserving our local history and we’re proud to back groups like the Talbot Arts and Historical Museum in continuing this important work,” she said.
