The Maryborough District Health Service will receive a boost after acquiring funding from the State Government.
As part of the government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF), 128 projects across rural and regional Victoria will share $70 million to upgrade, expand and modernise their services.
MDHS, as one of the beneficiaries, will receive a grant worth $264,750 which will be geared towards supporting the hospital’s redevelopment, and ensuring it has all the supplies and services required to deliver optimum care.
RHIF was established to provide financial aid to regional health services across Victoria so they continue to care for their local communities in a safe and efficient way.
The fund, estimated to be the largest health grant in the state, has so far invested $790 million into more than 630 projects since 2016.
