School children will be able to make the most of their school holidays as part of the Hepburn Shire Council’s free school holiday activities program.

Council is offering a range of fun and educational activities across Clunes, Creswick, Trentham and Daylesford for people aged between six and 25.

The Creswick Skate Park will be hosting the Skate Park Leagues on Saturday, April 6, to promote positive participation and encouragement in skate, scooter and BMX competitions.

Other activities include sensory packs filled with countless possibilities for creativity and development, compost sessions highlighting the importance of recycling as residents prepare for the complete rollout of organics bins, and make your own paint classes.

Hepburn Shire Council mayor Brian Hood said the free events are a great opportunity for kids to get out and about these school holidays.

“Our free school holiday program offers some interesting options for younger members of our community,” he said.

“If you have a young person in your life — whether they live in the shire or are visiting for the holidays — I encourage you to make the most of these free activities.

“Our teams have worked hard to organise a diverse collection of events over the school holidays so I urge families to get involved.”

Council is also providing transport to attend the Annual FReeZA Summit at the Collingwood Yards Music Market on Tuesday, April 9.

FReeZA is a State Government initiative where young people organise safe cultural and recreational events for young people in their local community.

Registration is required for many of the activities. For more information and details on how to book, go to www.hepburn.vic.gov.au/school-holidays
