All Central Goldfields Shire residents can now claim two free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) as part of a new government initiative to increase early detection of COVID-19.
The State Government this week announced all Victorians are eligible to pick up two free tests through their local council to help with early detection and treatment.
Residents can collect up to two packets of tests for themselves per visit, plus up to two packets for each household member.
People with a disability (or their carer) can collect up to four packets.
“There are simple things people can do to enjoy the summer safely — take a test if you have symptoms, stay home if you’re sick, wear a high-quality mask if you can’t physically distance, talk to your GP to see if you’re eligible for antivirals and stay up to date with your vaccinations,” Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas said.
RATS are available in the Central Goldfields Shire at:
• Maryborough Regional Library — open 9 am to 5 pm week days and 9 am to 12 pm Saturdays at 91 Nolan Street
• Dunolly Library — open 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays and 1 pm to 5 pm on Thursdays at 42 Market street
• Council’s Customer Service — open 9 am to 4 pm weekdays at 22 Nolan Street.
