Amphitheatre and Moonambel primary school grade five students will be able to get out on the water over the summer holidays with free angler kits.

A State Government initiative, some students across Ripon — and the state — will receive a kit including a fishing rod and reel, line, tackle box, some tackle and a Kids’ Guide to Fishing that includes information and links to educational resources to learn the basics such as fishing safety, knots and rigs.

“Fishing brings people together in the great outdoors, boosts local businesses and allows you to discover new parts of our region,” Member for Ripon Martha Haylett said.

“It was wonderful to meet with staff and students at Moonambel and Amphitheatre and share the news that these kits will be landing in little hands before the school holidays kicks off.”

Ms Haylett also dropped by Moonambel Primary School.
