An initiative to boost the skills of Central Goldfields Shire residents and organisations is back for round two, with the second series of Expand Your Impact starting next week.

The program provides local people and organisations with useful approaches to boost energy and effectiveness, in order to assist in addressing challenges and to learn new skills. It is free and aimed at anyone who wants to do more, learn more, connect better, or generally be more effective.

The program is delivered by Make a Change in collaboration with six regional partners (including Central Goldfields Shire Council) and the organisation’s Karen Corr said it’s a great opportunity.

“Particularly over these last few years, this style of program is proving to be the perfect fit for people who want to link easily into new ideas,” she said.

“People participate for many reasons including reassessing what’s most important, developing new methods for success, connecting better with community, adapting to change, and developing effective new strategies.”

The first Expand Your Impact series was held in late 2022 and attended by Maryborough Mill House coordinator Michelle Baker.

“Expand Your Impact was instrumental in assisting me to identify a project I wanted to focus on — in my case this was a local community project I was already working on — others in the group focused on personal projects and some on work projects,” she said.

“Week by week the sessions built on the previous week’s sessions clarifying and assisting participants to better articulate and deepen their focus with their own project for improved outcomes.

“Participants were encouraged to share their experiences throughout the sessions and the facilitators were ready with encouraging and motivating feedback.”

The series will run sessions every Tuesday from 6 to 7.30 pm for six weeks, from February 21 to March 28. Residents can also choose to attend single sessions.
