Make that five wins in a row for Dunolly, as they have jumped up to fifth and emerged as a potential top four contender with a 19-goal win over Newstead.

The Eagles had control from the start, save for a second-quarter Newstead fightback, setting up an intriguing encounter with similarly in-form Rovers next week.

The Eagles started the game on fire, scoring 17 goals to four in the first quarter, but Newstead were able to fight back with a 12-goal to eight stand themselves to close to within nine goals at half time.

But Dunolly were able to settle back into a rhythm in the second half, scoring 15 goals to nine to restore a 15-goal cushion at the final change, before scoring another 15 goals to 11 to eventually finish comfortable winners.

Zoe Aldridge scored 34 goals in the Eagles’ win, while Verity Gartside was the Kangaroos’ leading scorer with 21, while Carlee Jury added 15.
