First month completed with solid results across the board
The midweek pennant continues to remain close at the top of the ladder as the competition moves into round five.
Dunolly Blue remain nine points clear on top of the ladder after comfortably accounting for stablemates Dunolly Gold 73-37.
Dunolly Gold were able to take two points away courtesy of Fabio Delconte’s 18-15 win over Terry Long, but Dunolly Blue dominated the other two rinks, with Alan Weir too strong for Jim Haigh 30-9, while Tony Galofaro defeated Peter Freemantle 28-10.
Highland Tartan have closed the gap to nine points on the ladder after sweeping Talbot aside with an 84-45 win.
Greg Shay took a 31-9 win over Ray Prentice, while Garry Coburn took a 29-15 win over Chris Crossley. Michael Fryar had a battle in the closest rink of the day, but still proved too good with a 24-21 win over Barb Crossley.
Maryborough Golf continue to maintain a watching brief in third position after their 62-52 win over Avoca.
Graeme Orr took a 24-17 win over Daniel Giddings, while Liz Bucknall took a 23-17 win over Noel Parratt. Avoca were able to take the middle rink, with Ian Proctor recording an 18-15 win over Kort Gay.
Highland Gold took a much-needed first win of the season, securing a 65-41 win over Carisbrook.
The win saw a sweep on all three rinks, with Paul Gothard taking a 19-15 win over Laurence Cassidy, while Roy Crawley took a 23-10 win over Ross Gregory. Jeanette Oliver took a 23-16 win over Judy Cassidy to finish off the job.
A crucial round five matchup sees ladder-leader Dunolly Blue travel to Maryborough Golf in a battle between first and third.
Highland Tartan will be hoping to take advantage regardless of the result as they look to maintain a spot in the top two, travelling to Carisbrook.
Talbot will look to maintain their hold on a spot in the top four as they host Avoca, while Highland Tartan make the trip to Dunolly Gold.
