Fire Brigade to host fire season open day
Mt Cameron Fire Brigade are inviting community members to an open day this weekend ahead of the upcoming fire season.
The family-friendly event offers a chance to meet local brigade members, learn about their vital work, and ask questions about fire safety and emergency response.
Attendees will also receive important information to help prepare their homes and families for the fire season.
More than an event just for Mt Cameron locals, the broader community is also invited, including those from Red Lion, Majorca, Mt Glasgow, Dunach, and Cragie just to name a few.
Fire brigade Captain Parker Fawcett highlighted the brigade’s proud legacy as a champion of the community.
While their origins may be among local farmers and have evolved alongside their changing commu-nity, one thing has remained the same.
“We have always been about helping our neighbours,” Mr Fawcett said.
“As our community grows and changes, so does our brigade. We encourage anyone who’s not yet involved to come along and discover what we’re all about.”
The community day will be held this Sunday, November 9, from
10 am to noon.
