ROYAL PARK (37) def by HARCOURT (41)
Harcourt survived a scare from Royal Park to maintain their top four hopes, making it five wins in a row.
Despite the win, the scale of Lexton’s victory over Navarre on the weekend saw the Lions drop out of the top four on percentage, showing just how tight the battle for third position on the ladder is.
It was Bushy who got off to the stronger start, scoring eight goals to seven in the opening period to take the lead by the narrowest of margins.
Bushy again performed strongly in the second quarter, scoring 11 goals in the second to Harcourt’s 10 to lead by two goals at half time.
Harcourt’s offensive power came to the fore in the third quarter, putting their noses in front by the last break thanks to a 13-goal to nine quarter.
The Lions proved to be too strong in the end, scoring 11 goals to nine in the final quarter to take victory in a game that never saw either side lead by more than four goals at any change, winning 41-37.
The best players and goalscorers for both teams were not provided at print deadline.
