A fast-starting Lexton charged to victory against Maryborough Rovers, all-but locking in the double chance.

It was a dominant first quarter which gave the Tigers all the ammunition they needed to dictate terms for the entirety of the day.

Twenty-three goals to seven allowed the Tigers to lead at the opening change by 16 goals, and while Rovers were much more competitive from there, the damage was done.

Lexton added to their lead in the second term, scoring 15 goals to nine to make it a 22-goal margin at the main break.

The second half was a tight affair, with the third quarter going to Lexton by just one goal as they scored 12 goals to 11.

A goal-for-goal affair finished off the game as Rovers at least showed they can hang with a top four team for large patches.

Rachel Phelan scored 38 goals in the Tigers’ win, with Leesa Donhardt adding 22 more, while for Rovers, Tegan Maddern did the bulk of the scoring, finishing with 31 of their 37 goals.
