Factory saved by brigades
A factory fire at Drive In Court is under investigation after firefighters were called to the blaze at around 10.30 am on Sunday morning.

Maryborough Fire Brigade Captain Darryl Wagstaff said emergency services were at the scene for approximately two hours, with the fire declared under control in just under one hour.
“The tankers arrived and found that there was a large quantity of black smoke emanating mostly at the rear of the building. So we set up a defensive fire attack and had two firefighters with breathing apparatus enter the building with a hose line, on entering the building, the whole building was full of black smoke and they were unable to see,” he said.
“We then got the other brigades to set up on the west side of the building with breathing apparatus and worked their way to the seat of the fire.”
Five firefighting appliances attended from the Maryborough, Carisbrook and Bowenvale brigades.
Police also attended the incident.
Drive In Court was blocked as crews contained the blaze.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
“The fire itself was contained to the back corner of the building and a majority of the building and stock was saved from the fire,” Captain Wagstaff said.
“There was very little damage to the main part of the building, as we were able to contain it to the rear corner in their workshop area. But at this stage, we are still investigating the cause of the fire.”
