Event to ring in the new year
Station Domain will soon be transformed into a family-friendly entertainment extravaganza as the Carisbrook Lions Club prepares to celebrate the dawn of a new year.
Approximately 500 people will gather next Tuesday to celebrate the start of 2025 with jumping castles, train rides and much more ready for kids to enjoy from 6 pm.
While many of the main activities will close at 9 pm, music and entertainment will continue until the final moments of 2024.
Carisbrook Lions Club president Jefferson Hoober is encouraging residents to come along and celebrate the new year together.
“It’s a free fun event, we do it to put smiles on people’s faces, the activities are all free minus the laughing clowns, the drinks and food which are gold coin donations,” he said.
“You can come down as a family and spend very little and go home very happy.
“Hopefully local people who have a guitar or are in a band can come along, show their stuff, entertain a good crowd on a nice night and bring in the new year.”
According to Mr Hoober, the Carisbrook Lions Club prides itself on organising events where anyone can attend.
“There is not many places you can go these days where it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg so it’s about the lions and the shire putting on a very cheap fun night to see in the new year,” he said.
“Carisbrook Lions Club is proud to be able to do things for the community, proud of all the people who jump on board and help us throughout the year with any event we have.
“We couldn’t put those smiles on people’s faces without our great lions members but also people who come on board and help us all the time.”
The Carisbrook Lions Club New Year’s Eve celebrations at Station Domain commences at 6 pm. Entry is free.
