ROYAL PARK 7.7 (49) def by DUNOLLY 17.20 (122)

Dunolly has continued their good form with a convincing 73-point victory over Royal Park at Hedges Oval on Saturday.

In good conditions, Royal Park gave the Eagles a run for their money in the first quarter, but were only able to score one goal from five opportunities, while Dunolly were a little better, converting three goals from their seven chances.

The Eagles peppered the goals in the second quarter, but kicked seven behinds out of 10 scoring shots to sit 24 points up at the main break.

Eagles coach Bailey Goodwin must have inspired his players at the change as they basically dominated play in the second half having 20 scoring shots to six as they outran and outplayed the home team in all aspects of the game.

Hamish Richards and Lachlan Tranter were key players in the Eagles victory as was Mitch Goodwin with four goals. Others to play well were Mitch Walsh, Nathan Murphy, Seth Galvin and Lloyd Needs.

Dylan Wilshaw returned for his first game of the season for Royal Park and was named as their best player, while Lachlan Bates is having a stellar season for the Tigers and was again named amongst the better players. Others to try hard all day were Matt Walker, Ron Smith, Brandon Solomano and Ben McKay who also made his first 2023 appearance for the Tigers.
