Dunolly PS to mark 150 years
On Saturday, March 1, Dunolly Primary School will mark 150 years of providing education to young local students.

Dunolly Primary School principal Katie Lovel said the milestone is an important occasion for the school community.
“From the school’s perspective, it’s a huge milestone,” she said.
She is welcoming any former staff and students to join the school community in celebrating the proud occasion.
“We are keen for any previous staff or students to go, the school will be open that day,” Ms Lovel said.
Opening its doors from 9 am, the school will be welcoming former staff, students and members of the community to catch up with one another, tour the school grounds and take part in a historical dress up photo opportunity in the library.
“Those joining us can tour the school, see our memorabilia and see through our school’s history,” Ms Lovel said.
A morning tea will be provided at 10.30 am with speeches and an official cake cutting.
A group photo to mark the event will be taken at 11.30 am.
There will also be copies of the historical book about the school’s history titled, Dunolly, A school on the rise; Do Something About It by Bill Humphreys for sale on the day for $25 each.
Attendees can leave their mark at the school for the next 150 years, with pavers for sale on the day for $40 each.
The Dunolly community will be celebrating many other local reunions on that weekend, including 50 years of the Laanecoorie Dunolly Cricket Club and 46 years of Dunolly Kindergarten.
Nearly 200 tickets to the event have already been sold.
Tickets are pre-purchase only.
