A celebration to mark the 50th jubilee of the Doxa Youth Foundation, which has created opportunities for children and young people from disadvan-taged backgrounds — in-cluding locally — will take place this Sunday.
The foundation was established by Father Joe Giacobbe in 1972, expanding opportunities and building special memories for young people.
The foundation runs camps including in Malmsbury and Bendigo, along with cadetships and other programs.
The jubilee event will provide an opportunity for all those involved with Doxa over the years to catch up and share their memories, and see displays of the foundation’s memorabilia and new history DVD.
Activities include a giant climbing wall, archery, pony rides and a roving magician, and a special chance to see the Melbourne Cup.
The free event will run from 11 am onwards this Sunday, October 2 at the Doxa Malmsbury Camp, 1000 Vaughan Springs Road, Drummond North.
