Maldon kicked away in the second half for a comfortable 59-point victory over the Bulldogs at Avoca on Saturday.

It was a difficult opening quarter, with just two goals kicked between the two teams. Maldon kicked one goal from seven shots on goal, and had the better of the play, but led by five points at the first break.

The Dons started to kick clear in the second quarter, and got their kicking boots on, kicking four goals to two to extend their lead to 18 points by the main break.

It was the third quarter where the game was decided, with the Bombers kicking five goals to one, taking a 42-point lead into the final change, before a further three goals to one gave the Dons a solid win.

Seb Greene has been in outstanding form for the Bombers this season and he once again put on a show. Rhys Ford was the standout in front of the goals snagging four goals for the victors, while Greene also slotted three himself.

Besides Greene, others to play well for the Bombers were Tanner Bishop, Matthew Gray, Billy Johns, Brodie Leonard-Shannon, Joshua Pascoe and Callum Buchanan.

Avoca’s better players were Cameron Antonio, Scott Cawthan, Samsen Boothey, Tyson Cope, Logan Hayles and Bryce Howell.
