Par for the course

A vital part of our community for more than 100 years, Maryborough Golf Club is ‘The Place To Be!’

With its bushland setting and gently undulating layout, the picturesque 18-hole golf course is the pick of the courses in the region.

The club caters to players of all skill and fitness levels and, as well as attractive green fees for the casual player, offers a range of membership packages for individual needs.

A number of golf tournaments are held throughout the year, including the June and November Tournaments. In March the club also hosts a charity tournament on behalf of the Maryborough & District Health Service.

Perhaps it’s a game of bowls you prefer? As well as an active competition scene, the club is home to social bowls on Thursdays – where players can learn for free – as well as barefoot bowls on the Santa Ana couch grass greens

If all that activity works up a hunger, the Fairways bistro provides a wide range of options to suit everyone’s tastes. The ‘modern Australian’ menu includes a selection of signature dishes created kitchen staff and provides the perfect casual dining experience from lunch through to dinner from Tuesday to Sunday.

Locals and visitors to the club often remark on the excellent service they receive from bar and wait staff. This level of service was recently acknowledged when front-of-house supervisor Linc Roscholler was recognised as a finalist in the Community Clubs Victoria Young Employee of the Year.

Club manager John Sedunary said Mr Roscholler sets a high standard for the club.

“To put it simply, he’s an absolute ambassador for the club and he sets a really high bar for all of us to reach in terms of our service standards,” he said.
